Where Does The Good Go?

So, in my last post I said I was going to blog some more; however, that day my brother told me I NEEDED to watch Grey’s Anatomy again. See, we used to watch it together when it was on Lifetime and I’ve seen up to some episodes of season 6. He’s been watching it on Netflix and demanded I watch it again. To me, it kinda went bad in season 6 (which is why I quit watching) but I guess it’s starting to get better again. I had no idea it was on Netflix, so I’ve been watching it every chance I get (I’m currently in season 2). I’m going to attempt to post more, but I can’t tell you at what interval. I have my first product review post coming up soon! I’m pretty psyched about that!

Along with writing this blog, I’ve been working on a story that was inspired by a tumblr post I saw on Pinterest. I don’t want to reveal the details but I hope it’ll be good. My brother (Mack) and best friend (Tera) have both read what I have this far and they both like it. I was stuck for a while but I think I’m going to get back into it. While I was thinking up the story, I was trying to figure out what the characters would look like, like anyone who writes a story. Is it odd that when I emailed Mack and Tera the story, I sent them a list of actors/actresses that I think the characters will look like? Using famous people makes it easier for me to describe what they look like, I’m nowhere near creative enough to draw/think up new people.

It’s finally starting to warm up in the Ohio Valley, so Little Man got to go to the park today! He loved it, he crawled all over the playground equipment and swinged and giggled and had a great time! When we went shopping afterward, I wore him and he almost fell asleep. It was adorable. Little Man is so quiet when we’re out in public but at home, he is a crazy little guy! It’s crazy to see him be as shy as he is in public!

How’s everything going with you? Would you be interested in reading my story when it’s done? Let me know!

Dangerous To Know

It’s Thankful Thursday again folks! If you’re just tuning in, I got my blogging challenge from here. This Thankful Thursday is going to be a big list of the things I love and couldn’t live without…not mom things like last time…just anything. So in no specific order, here are 10 random things I’m thankful for:

  1. Dr. Pepper and any remake of it– I’m not sure when I first had Dr. Pepper but it was a great day. I’ve gone like a week without Dr. Pepper and I feel like I’m dying.
  2. Empowering music– you know, those songs that you know every word to and listen to when you’re pissed or depressed and just yell the lyrics? Yeah, a lot of those songs have gotten me through everything.
  3. Pajama pants/ sweat pants– I don’t wear them out in public but as soon as I get into my bedroom, I change immediately. The feeling of pajamas is super relaxing in itself. I’m currently sporting a pair of DC pajama pants from like 5 years ago. I’m more of a Marvel fan but there were no Marvel pants in my size in the men’s section (being almost 6 feet tall I get my pajamas from there so I know they’re long enough).
  4. My cell phone– I know, how cliche of me. Having a baby at the stage he’s at, I’m glad I have a camera at the ready because who knows when he’ll do whatever he’s doing again!
  5. Pinterest– again, super cliche, another blogger talking about Pinterest. HAVE YOU SEEN THAT WEBSITE?! If you turn up your nose or get all judgey of the people that talk about Pinterest, you probably haven’t visited the site. If you don’t like Pinterest, you should probably go be sad and boring elsewhere.
  6. Internet humor– I LOVE the internet humor I see now! Like white girls and can’t even, Dwight Schrute memes, anything and everything! Well, the stuff I understand. I don’t understand the Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, or Doctor Who stuff because I haven’t watched those shows.
  7. Frozen– yes, the super popular Disney movie from last year. Have you seen it? I love everything about it! Plus, my son will watch the whole movie and sometimes fall asleep while we’re in the car (our relatives live about an hour away and Little Man hates his car seat).
  8. Fashion– I don’t have the money for the wardrobe I want, but I really love looking at outfits that people put together and trying to figure out if I could make it work with what I have.
  9. Mom Blogs– I am SO thankful for blogs written by moms! While I was pregnant, I must’ve read thousands of them! Heck, now I read thousands. It’s nice to be able to reference another person’s experiences in certain situations (teething, baby poop, colic).
  10. Tutorials/checklists– the people that write these two things are awesome. It helps to reference multiple ones to see what I should pack for a weekend away, or things to things about when you’re about to move, or how to make a bracelet, or how I can easily style my hair (still none that don’t require French braids or some variation), or how to follow a crochet pattern (still haven’t completed a project yet).

What random things are you thankful for? Anything about my things bother or interest you? Let me know in the comments! See you tomorrow for the final day of the October Blogging Challenge!

You Oughta Know

Gooood evening. I hope you read that in a Dracula voice. Happy Friday everyone! I’m going to continue to do the October Blogging Challenge, today’s topic is ten things not many people know about you. Here we go!

  1. I went to Basic Training for the Army National Guard in 2010, but didn’t finish.
  2. I think this is the longest I’ve stuck with a monthly challenge.
  3. I have no female friends that I can hang out with, I mostly hang out with my brother, husband, or my husband’s friends.
  4. I know more about superheroes (specifically Marvel but some DC) than any girl should. If I don’t know something, I text my brother (he’s basically an expert).
  5. I’m TERRIBLE at comma placement. I either overuse or under use.
  6. I’m mostly a tomboy but there are days when I really want to dress up.
  7. I watch Disney Princess movies probably more than any adult should. My favorites are Frozen, Tangled, Mulan (though she isn’t really a princess), and Beauty and the Beast.
  8. Motherhood didn’t really change me like it does for some women. I still find the same jokes funny and I don’t think all babies are cute.
  9. I’m currently writing a story based off of this picture I found on Pinterest.
  10. I love pasta, but for some reason I’m not a big fan of Olive Garden.

Well, those are 10 things not many people know about me. What kind of things does not everyone now about you? Let me know! See you tomorrow for the post of the day!

People, Let Me Tell Ya ‘Bout My Best Friend

Look at me writing another post sooner than I did last time! Yes I realize how strange the title is, but if you knew me (or if you keep reading this blog) you’d totally understand the weirdness and possibly learn to love it.

Obviously, I’m gonna tell you about my best friend…other than my husband and my brother. We’ve only been friends for almost 3 years and it has been amazing, if I do say so myself (and I do).

A little bit of backstory for you, in the 2011-2012 school year we both attended what is possibly the smallest university I’ve ever seen and lived in the same dorm building, heck her room was right next to my high school best friend’s room! But we didn’t meet until December of 2011, the 8th to be exact. I had originally gone to her room to study with her roommate (my lab partner) for a final we had the next day. It was a Thursday night (anyone who went to college knows what happens on Thursdays) and my lab partner was one of those worrisome mom types, meaning she had to make sure everyone was alright when they got back from parties and what not. Well, she pretty much left me in her room with her roommate (whom I’d never met before in my life). I had debated going back to my dorm to study done I already knew what was going on on the final and didn’t need to study (I had an A in class), but then we started talking about weddings and Pinterest and that’s where it all began.

That night we watched movies I’d never seen and spent until the morning talking, laughing, and finding out how much we were alike. The winter semester ended the next week but we continued talking over break and the next semester we were practically inseparable. We had three classes together, ate all of our meals together, and hung out as much as possible.

After the year ended, neither of us went back to that college. She was three hours away from home, so she went to a college closer to her house and I never went back to college. We still found time to get together and I even went on vacation with her family last year. She is an honorary aunt to my son and the person I text when I just need to rant or get a silly idea out of my head.

Last month, she moved to South Carolina and she told me today that she’s feeling super homesick so I wrote this post to let her know this:

Tera,

You are an amazing, beautiful, gracious person. You deserve to be happy and live your life whether it be here, there, or in Paris. I’m not saying it’ll be easy all the time but it does get easier. At one point, you’ll probably even feel like you don’t ever want to come home because you love where you are and that’s okay! Just know I love you best friend and I miss you everyday.

Love, me 🙂

One of the many songs we’ve rocked out to.

The song that inspired the title.

Isn't she gorgeous?!
